On July 20, 1914, she was united in marriage to Grover Franklin ‘Frank’ SIMPSON, who preceded her in death on 27 Jan 1923. To this union was born four sons, two passing away as infants and Garnett and Dewey, both of whom passed away in early manhood. She was united in marriage to Peter Andrew ‘Andy’ SIMPSON, brother of her first husband, on March 20, 1926. To this union was born one son and one daughter; James Venton, of Winona, MO, and Martha Mable FINCH, of St. Louis MO. Her husband Andy preceded her in death on 22 Sep 1945 at Wilderness Oregon Co MO. Ruth made the Wilderness her home for several years and then moved to Winona Shannon Co MO where she operated a rooming house. She married a third time to Thomas Jefferson WHITE on 26 Mar 1947 in Shannon County; T. J., as he was called, preceded her in death 24 Jun 1963 at Winona Shannon Co MO. Her son Garnett Erwin SIMPSON passed away 05 Nov 1949 at the Mount Vernon Tuberculosis Hospital in Mount Vernon Lawrence Co MO; son Dewey Maxie died on 11 Mar 1941, also at the Mount Vernon Tuberculosis Hospital in Mount Vernon Lawrence Co MO. Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Golda Viola 'Ola' BURRELL, and brother, Rufus 'Bud' HAYNES. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Venton, and daughter, Mable, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; also two sisters, Flora Doane ‘Dona’ REED, of St. Louis, and her twin sister, Esther DAILEY, of Winona, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. She united with the Methodist Church at an early age at New Liberty MO and lived a life that showed her faith in her Savior. The following - one of her New Year's letters - which she wrote to her children each year - shows how her faith and hope in God carried her through her earthly life. "Dear Venton: I'm sitting here all alone this New Year's Day and this would be a good day to tell you what I want to. We never know the day or hour I will have to leave you all. I'm not looking forward to leaving you all, but I am looking forward to a better home where all my worries, troubles and sorrows will be over and I know I'll meet so many of my loved ones there. So, if I have to leave you all behind, remember, I'll be with them and will be looking for you all to come to us where we all can be happy and we will dwell in the House with the Lord forever." ‘Granny White’, as she was affectionately called, will be sadly missed by her many friends. Services were held at the Wilderness Church under the direction of the McSpadden Funeral Home, with interment in the Wilderness Cemetery.
