BRAWLEY, Sarah Beulah SIMPSON
Date of Death: January 27, 1938.
Sarah Beulah (SIMPSON) BRAWLEY, daughter of Wright and Samantha (CATES) SIMPSON, was born November 26, 1874 near Alton in Oregon Co MO, and passed away at her home south of Winona at 7:15 p.m. on January 27, 1938 at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 1 day. On October 14, 1894 she was united in marriage with Samuel Alexander Greer BRAWLEY . To this union 14 children were born, 7 of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband on October 24, 1928. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Methodist Church, to which faith she remained true until death claimed her. She leaves to mourn her death 7 children: Mrs. Iva JOHNSTON, of Halstead KS; Sam BRAWLEY of Madison IL; Wright BRAWLEY; Mrs. Virginia HAYNES; Mrs. Ava WEST; Mrs. Julia BALL; and Louis BRAWLEY, of Winona MO; 23 grandchildren; her stepmother, Mrs. Mary SIMPSON, of Alton MO; 7 sisters, 4 brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at Falling Spring Cemetery by Rev. J. B. DAVIS at 2:30 p.m. on January 28th.
